Overview of the teaching abroad

In the retreat the following activities and tasks were undertaken:

  • Visual Communication & Personal Branding: Principles of authentic communication through images and videos, including self-presentation, personal branding, and storytelling techniques.
  • Technical Production Skills: Portrait photography, smartphone video production, and editing with CapCut to create diverse video content (educational, promotional, personal branding).
  • Social Media & Content Strategy: Platform-specific content creation (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), understanding social media algorithms, and developing editorial calendars and content strategies.
  • Collaborative & Practical Learning: Group discussions, peer feedback, and hands-on workshops applying knowledge in real-life scenarios.

Competences acquired

As result of the participation in this teaching experience, Paola Bortini gained the following competences:

  • Personal Growth & Self-Presentation: Developed greater self-awareness, confidence, and authenticity in communication, along with reflective and lifelong learning skills.
  • Visual & Multimedia Creation: Acquired practical skills in visual communication, portrait photography, video creation/editing (CapCut), and combining visual, text, voice, and music elements for engaging multimedia narratives.
  • Social Media & Content Strategy: Learned to create platform-specific content (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), understand social media algorithms, and develop editorial calendars and content strategies.
  • Collaboration & Adaptability: Enhanced communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills through group activities and peer exchange, while increasing adaptability to new perspectives.
